Adorable Little Tufted Titmice are Very Active Now

Between the first clutch of fledglings and the adults there are tufted titmice (Baeolophus bicolor) everywhere. Like the cardinal fledglings, most of the titmouse fledglings are pretty much independent and self sufficient. They are still often arriving as families, but the young ones are no longer begging for food or acting unsure of themselves. This bird was one of a family group that were flying back and forth to the feeding station, calling to each other the whole time. Unlike the cardinals, the titmice don’t seem to be trying to run off their fledglings. It’s rather nice to see the little groups getting along instead of constantly squabbling and chasing each other.
