If you have read this blog for long, you’ve probably noticed my fondness for hibiscus flowers. I love their textured petals and the many different and intriguing colors that they come in. But by far, my favorite feature is that gorgeous central stamen stalk. All of those things add up to an outstanding flower to have around and to photograph. This flower had just started to open when I took this shot. I liked the way the petals surrounded and emphasized the stamen. It’s a work of natures art immortalized on film in my own artistic style.
