Beautiful Cutleaf Evening Primrose Can Really Glow in the Sun

Plants, flowers, mushrooms, spider’s webs, and many other things are exceptionally pretty when covered in rain drops or morning dew. One flower that seems to attract dew is the cutleaf evening primrose (Oenothera laciniata). It’s a small spring wildflower that’s attractive in its own right, but looks really amazing if you catch it early enough on a spring morning that it’s covered in dew drops. Like so many other beautiful flowers, it’s considered a weed since it likes to grow on grassy areas like lawns. This one was growing (along with many others) in the grass around the parking area at Sweetwater Wetland Park. There were quite a few other types of flowers growing out there, too, so it seemed to be a good place to start my photo journey that day. You just can’t go too wrong with a gorgeous flower on a dewy morning.
