It’s Wonderful Getting to See Interesting Breeding Rituals

Now that spring is here, the resident birds are into the process of finding and bonding with mates. I have several times witnessed male cardinals feeding females (which is a nice change from them all chasing each other around). Today, though, it was this cute pair of tufted titmice (Baeolophus bicolor). They were obviously already well bonded because where one went the other was soon to follow. I watched them feed each other several times, and finally managed to catch it on camera. It’s always nice to get to see some of the tenderness and caring that these birds show each other as they strengthen their bonds. It gives you the feeling of being a part of something very special.
