Even though much of Florida is brown during the winter, some of the dried, brown plants are still quite beautiful. On my most recent hike in the Gothe State Forest I came across a bunch of these greater masterwort flowers (Astrantia major). Of course, they are long by gone and quite dried out, but they’re still surprisingly beautiful. They really reminded me of something that you might find in a dried flower arrangement.
