American Bullfrogs Love the Warm Weather of Spring

Last year I had a good sized American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) living in my pond, but in the fall something got it. I suspect it was a crow, but since I didn’t see what happened, I’ll never know for sure. That’s why I was very pleased when the weather started to warm up, and this little one showed up in the pond. I purposely didn’t drain and clean the pond over the winter in hopes that there were baby frogs hibernating in the mud on the bottom. I guess there were!.
