November’s Full Moon was a Wonderful Sight on the Water
This month I spent the evening of the full moon beside the lake that opens onto my friend Mary’s property. Mary, her husband Lee, and I try to get together regularly to visit and keep in touch. Their property has some frontage on Watermelon Pond, which is always pretty. When they bought the property years ago, the pond was much smaller than it is now. Even then it was quite large to be called a pond and now that it’s bigger, it really should be called a lake. It’s a beautiful place to go for a sunset, for great bird and wildlife watching, and for enjoying the moon over the water on a warm evening. And of course, it always comes with great company. I had wanted to photograph a full moon out there for the better part of this year, but the weather and previous commitments kept that from happening until this month. It finally all worked out just in time for November’s Beaver Moon. The photos turned out okay, but I had wanted to try some long exposure shots. Unfortunately I forgot to bring a tripod, so I may just have to go again in December. Definitely something to look forward to.
