The Beautiful White Pelicans are Back in Florida for Winter
Thursday turned into a rather stressful day at my office, so when I left for the afternoon, I was very much feeling the need for some peace in nature. To get that, I decided to go out to Cedar Key for the sunset. I got there just a little bit before sunset and that timing was great because many of the birds were heading to their roosts for the night. I got a number of images of several types of birds as they headed for their evening rest. I was also excited to see quite a few white pelicans (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) since I tried several times to see them last winter and was never successful. I really liked the way the setting sun gave this one a slight yellowish tint as it flew towards the horizon.
