You Never Know What May Happen First Thing in the Morning
I’m definitely not a morning person, but when I do get up early I’m never disappointed. And fall is an especially great time to get up early. Many birds complete the majority of their migrations at night. Usually the best times to see them is a dawn or dusk unless you’re lucky enough to have some stay near you for a day or two. On this particular morning I had a doctor’s appointment before work, so I decided to get up extra early and go see the sunrise on my way into town. I love this open field for watching sunrises since it has a nice distance before trees block the horizon. As I had hoped, the sunrise was gorgeous and I got the bonus of some migrating birds. They came along in several large waves, which is why I’m pretty sure they were migrating, but unfortunately, they were too far away to identify, especially in the low light. Still, any time I get birds, it’s a happy day for me!
