Can A Bright Green Grasshopper Make a Great Colorful Artwork?
Well, of course, the answer to that question is yes. Originally, this was a nice, but rather plain shot of a short winged green grasshopper (Dichromorpha viridis). They are pretty little grasshoppers that are mostly brown with a bright green back. Although pretty, they aren’t really striking, but as I worked with this photo, the background, which was pretty much various shades of green, gave me the idea of doing some color swapping. I hadn’t done one of these in a while and I had the time to do it, so why not. I’m especially fond of blues and purples, so it wasn’t too hard to choose my colors. Some people like this style of artwork while others may not, but one thing you can say is that it’s no longer plain.
