Nature has Lots of Interesting Small Things to See
It was a perfect afternoon this afternoon, and I was longing to be outside doing something. I had people here working on something, so a hike was out of the question, but I’ve been wanting to try some macro photography with my relatively new camera. I find macro images amazing and very interesting. They also open up a whole new world that we usually miss completely. There are plenty of things to take macro photos of just on my property, so I could stay here and still get outside and take some photos. And besides, I haven’t done that with this camera and the lenses I have for it, so I was overdue. Needless the say, I had a blast, got a bit of afternoon sun, and found some cool stuff in my own yard. I started with some little mushrooms and then found a number of other things to shoot. I finished up with this fern shoot that’s one of the many green things that are popping up. I’ve taken photos of these before (I love the texture, the coiled shape, and the little hairs all over them), but this one is the first one I’ve been able to completely get into focus. That’s because it a focus stack of 10 images. I hadn’t ever really done that before either, so all in all a fun afternoon and I learned to do some cool stuff. I call that a good day!
