Beautiful Passion Fruit Flowers are Sparse This Spring
This has been a dry spring for central Florida and that has been good for some of our wildflowers like beeblossom, but not so good for others like phlox. Another one that hasn’t done well this spring are my passion fruit flowers. I hadn’t seen any blossoms until early in May. They popped out soon after we got our first rains, but then it was dry again for nearly two weeks, so the flowers wilted. Luckily, I grabbed a few shots of this one before it died. We’re still on the dry side, but afternoon rains are coming more and more frequently so I’m hoping that we will have some more flowers soon and eventually a little bit of fruit.
