I have seen several dragonflies while out in the woods and buzzing around my office area, but none of them have provided me with any decent chances for photos. Last Thursday I had to go to town to run some errands and happened to see this handsome male blue dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) fly by in, of all places, the parking lot of the Sam’s Club. He perched on a small twig in the median, so I grabbed my camera and got a few shots, including this one.
