The end of last week was pretty windy when I took a hike in the woods. There really wasn’t much that was up off the ground that wasn’t moving wildly in the wind, so I focused my photographic efforts on things that were near ground level. There were plenty of blossoming wildflowers down there, so I had no lack of subjects. While I was walking and looking closely at the ground, I came across this small grey feather that was resting on a leaf. It looked very pretty lying there like a still life painting; at least nature’s version of a still life painting. If it could have been a painting, why not an artistic photo? Why not, indeed.
