So far, 2023 seems to be following 2022 in having some pretty great sunrises and sunsets. The morning that I captured this image behind my office, I had left the house to a large amount of red color on the eastern horizon, but since I’m in the middle of the woods, it was hard to see what was going on. By the time I made it out into the open, there was still a large glowing area around where the sun would be coming up, but the color seemed to be fading. Once I made it to work, the sun was just above the tree line, but the glow had spread across much of the horizon and the color was being taken up beautifully by the clouds. It always amazes me how sunrises and sunsets change so dramatically in just a few minutes, but that’s part of the marvel of them.
