Honey Bees are Great Pollinators Because They Work Hard
Honey bees are well known for being very busy (busy as a bee), hard working insects and that is part of why they are such good pollinators. What many people don’t know, though, is that they are so industrious because if they aren’t, the rest of the hive will kill them. Bee society is quite strict and even queens will die if the hive does not feel that they are producing enough eggs. That’s also part of what makes them good photography subjects. If the weather is at all decent, they are out and about working, working, working. If you get near many types of flowering plants, your odds of finding honey bees can be pretty good. This guy was one of quite a number of them that were buzzing around in the blackjacks. It was a sunny, warm afternoon and the bees were loving it. So was I.
