Camphorweed is a Bright, Colorful October Flower

The bright yellow flowers that pepper our roadsides in all the sunny spots each October are known as camphorweed (Heterotheca subaxillaris). They provide a nice pop of color at a time when most of our wildflowers have faded. I have a big bunch of them outside my front gate, and every year they look so pretty that I have to take photos of them. They’re something that I look forward to each fall.
