Thynnid Wasps Love Habitats with Colorful Wildflowers
Thynnid wasps (Myzinum quinquecinctum) tend to be very gentle wasps that feed on the pollen and nectar of wildflowers. They’re one of my favorites even though they are shy and can be bothered by my attentions when I’m photographing them. I like their bold black and yellow coloration. For tonight’s image I decided to get kind of artsy and replaced parts the wasp’s body with an image that represents it’s preferred habitat. This is the first time I’ve tried this and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I hope you enjoy it, too.
