These Beautiful Golden Flowers are One of the Common Colors of Summer
Summer seems to be here in the US with temperatures in many places reaching into triple digits on the Fahrenheit scale. For many people, those type temperatures are really tough to handle, but down here in Florida, we’re pretty used to it. Most of June was actually a little cooler than normal, but summer is here to stay now. And along with summer temperatures come summer wildflowers. One of the first to begin popping up are the Leavenworth’s tickseeds (Coreopsis leavenworthii). Their bright yellow petals with the dark center are a nice contrast to the purples and pinks of the Drummond’s phlox, which is fading away. These flowers will last through the summer, and into the fall. Their arrival is definitely one of the signs of the summer season and their beautiful golden petals are one of the best known colors of summer.
