I am not a morning person by nature, but there is a lot to be said for being up to watch the sun rise. It is always quiet and peaceful, and most people are still asleep. In fact, a lot of the wildlife is still asleep, too. At least the diurnal ones. That’s why I was pleased to get this photo of a bird out and about so early. As you can see, the sun has barely made it over the horizon, so even by bird standards this one’s an early bird. It was too far away, and too dark to identify it, but I think it’s a nice addition to the sunrise.
