When I got home from work this afternoon I set about doing my evening chores as usual. When I was putting the dogs out the afternoon sun was streaming down into the walkway and just happened to light up this nearly perfect empty orb weaver web. The sun glimmered and twinkled off of the thin strands of silk in a pattern of pinks, blues, and greens in a pretty spectacular way. The web was quite small and I wasn’t sure if I could get the camera to focus on it properly. I also wasn’t sure if it would capture the glittering colors well, either. When I looked at the images this evening I was pretty pleased. I was also glad that I happened to be walking there when I was. Not too long after that it clouded up for an afternoon shower. Without that direct sunlight all the glitter was gone and it was just an empty web again.
