When I was out at Fort Island Gulf Beach there was someone feeding the gulls and the grackles. Everywhere you looked in the sand in that area was covered in little bird tracks. But in all that chaos there was one set of clear tracks made by a young seagull who was hanging back being a little shy. It might have been the smartest bird out there. After the feeder was done and all the other birds had gone on their way, this one went in and cleaned up all the crumbs and scraps the others had left behind. It still got a decent snack without having to squabble with all the other birds!
