I have always loved gardenia flowers. Their powerful fragrance and the beautiful ways the petals fold on themselves and each other make them lots of fun to work with. Each one is different and that, too, is part of the fun. Add in an afternoon shower followed by bright sun on a warm (but not yet hot) spring afternoon and it’s a photographer’s dream. After shooting this, I decided to play with the color. I loved the way the blue emphasized the folds in the petals and the light coming in from the right. Let me know what you think!
