It’s World Ocean Day and It’s Very Important!

World Ocean Day is an international day that works to create interest in protection of one of our most important resources, the oceans. It officially started in 2008, but some countries were celebrating it before then. As most of you know, the world’s oceans are having difficulties. Coral reefs are dying along with many other species of life. Each year, World Ocean Day has a different theme that attempts to involve people in projects that help to protect and restore the sea. This year the theme is “The Ocean: Life and Livelyhoods”. The campaign is focused on reminding people that the oceans are the lifesource of every organism living on Earth both past and present. Without healthy oceans, none of us will survive. So please take just a few minutes out of your busy day to consider the plight of our oceans and what we can do to save them.
