Today is Memorial Day in the United States. It is a day to honor the memories of those men and women who’ve lost their lives in the performance of their military duties. Unofficially, Memorial Day began after the end of the civil war. At that time it was called Decoration Day since people decorated the graves of the fallen. In 1970 it officially became Memorial Day. We now celebrate with parades, memorials at military cemeteries, cook outs, and family time. I personally choose to celebrate quietly, at home with nature. In celebration, I wish to share a few nature photos with all of you. Our nature and wildlife are part of what makes this country great and worth fighting for. I hope everyone has a great day, and please take a few minutes to remember those who have been lost.
