One of the prettiest small songbirds that we have around here is the white eyed vireo (Vireo griseus). To me, their colors work so well together and are completely gorgeous. They aren’t one that I see every day, but I always love looking at them when I do see them. They also have a very pretty voice, which nicely matches the bird. That voice is usually what you notice first because they tend to be fairly shy and stay hidden in the foliage. Once you hear the distinctive song, start searching the trees for the beautiful, active, bluish green bird with the icy blue eyes.
