I’m Very Pleased to Have Won an Award for My Artwork

Every month I enter some of my artwork, both photographs and drawings, in a few contests. I enjoy a little bit of competition after having spent many years as an athlete, and although this is a very different kind of competition, it still pushes me to try to do my best. Contests are also a chance to get your work out in the public eye. The contests I enter depends on the month and the type of work being called for, but every month I do enter the Bold Brush Art Competition. Bold Brush and Fine Art Studio Online (FASO) is the company that hosts my artist’s website as well as providing a number of other resources for artists, among them, this contest. I have had work chosen in the top 15% several times, but in the June contest my photo “A Bird in the Bush” won an Honorable Mention award. That award came with a small cash prize and a short featured article about me and my work. I find this award especially meaningful because this company hosts sites for some rather well known and highly successful artists and to get noticed among them is a real honor to me. If any of you would like to take a closer look at this image, you can find it on my artist’s website at https://www.deeesler.com/portfolio-viewer?collection=172535#lg=1&artworkId=6143609
And finally, I want to thank each and every one of you who reads these posts (or at least looks at the pictures) and has supported me in my artistic endeavors. I would not be able to do this without your help and support.
