Sunset at the beach is almost always a beautiful thing. On the day after Thanksgiving my Mom and I headed to the beach near her house to enjoy the sunset. I enjoyed not only the evening colors and pleasant weather, but also watching the shore birds as they settled in for the night. There are jetties on either side of the beach and even though the tide was high, many birds of several different species lined the jetties to roost for the night. As the evening got darker and darker, more and more birds settled in until most of the exposed rocks were covered with them. I took this image as the sun was setting and the birds were arriving. I liked the silhouettes of them against the brilliant color of the sky and sea.
