December Can Be a Beautiful Time for Star Gazing

On my way home from work last week I had to stop and take some photos of a really gorgeous sunset. Not only was the color outstanding, but because of the clear skies, the quarter moon with its earthshine could easily be seen just a little bit below the planet Venus. It was actually the combination of the moon and the brilliantly lit Venus that originally caught my eye. Then as the sun went down and that blue hour color began to develop I just had to stop and watch. Even if I hadn’t had my camera with me, I would have had to stop. I’m pretty sure I will never get tired of watching a sunset, even if it’s just from the side of a highway.
