Welcome to What Next Photography & Graphic Arts
Hello everyone and welcome to What Next Photography & Graphic Arts! I hope all of you will enjoy what I have to share. Please feel free to make any suggestions or comments, and I will try answer you as quickly as possible.
My name is Dee and I am, like most people, a complicated mess of various interests, skills, and dreams. In this blog, I hope to share some my adventures with you and hopefully help you come to love animals and nature the same way I do. I live on a small “farm” in north central Florida near the east coast. We’re kind of in the middle of nowhere, which I love, and we back up onto a large piece of the Gothe State Forest, which I also love! I’ve never been a big gardener or landscaper, so I’ve left a lot of my property on the wild side. That and backing up on state forest, means that we have a LOT of wildlife in the area. And by wildlife, I do mean both plants and animals, so you plant enthusiasts won’t be left out, I promise! There is nothing I enjoy more than a walk (in my younger days it used to be a run) in the woods, and I ALWAYS bring along my camera (which I couldn’t do when running).
In my “day job” I am a full time veterinarian at a busy (too busy, but aren’t all municipal shelters too busy?) municipal shelter. Even though I sometimes see some sad things, and there is a lot of stress involved, I do love my job! It is very rewarding to be able to get a skinny, unhappy, uncared for animal into a better situation. My job is a huge part of my life, so those of you who are into pets will hopefully find that I have some good stories for you too. I also used to run a rescue organization of my own, and that has resulted in my ending up with quite a few dogs and cats of my own, and we can’t leave those kids out.
When I’m not at work, I really try to not practice medicine (sometimes difficult) and instead enjoy the woods, my pets, my photography, and my drawing, my family, and my friends. I do still try to keep fit, too, so I tend to be a crazy busy person most of the time, but most of the time it’s a good crazy busy, I hope! So why add a blog to all that??? The answer is that I love to share my stories and adventures, so hang on for what I hope will be an interesting ride!
