It Was a Beautiful Full Moon in Early November

The full moon of November occurred last week and it was an interesting one. First, it was the largest full moon of the year due to the moon being the closest it gets to the Earth. In fact, it was the largest full moon we will have for the next few years. Here in central Florida the evening was partly cloudy and perhaps not ideal for moon watching. As the evening progressed the cloud cover got thicker and thicker and eventually the moon became just a fuzzy bright spot in the clouds. At first though, the clouds added some interesting textures and colors to the moon as it rose. I stopped out in a nice isolated spot away from the lights of town and took a few shots as the moon moved through the clouds illuminating parts of them and deepening the shadows in other places. Even though the conditions weren’t perfect, the effect was very nice and it contributed to a really pretty evening outside.
