There are Always Has Colorful Sunsets Over the Water
Last week I went out to Cedar Key to watch the sunset. The sunset itself wasn’t that great thanks to the fact that the sky was hazy with dust being blown across the Atlantic and over the southern United States, including Florida. The dust caused the evening colors of the sky and clouds to be kind of muted and duller than usual. It also muted the color and brightness of the sun, but that actually made it a lot easier to see. Even though the sunset colors weren’t as nice as usual and there wasn’t very much of the color in the sea, the sun was actually quite striking. I’ve really only seen the sun look quite like this on the last day or two before a hurricane or if there is a thunderstorm on the way. Since the sun was muted enough that it wouldn’t burn out my camera sensors or my eyes, I shot this little series of it as it descended. They’re in order as the sun dropped down, but they aren’t all focused on the same spot since the sun was going down. Because of that, the distance above the trees is not the same in each shot. To realize the lowering of the sun, look at the cloud formations instead. Then the series will make more sense. Enjoy!
