April and May are Prime Months for Beautiful Gardenia Flowers

The gardenias (Gardenia jasminoides) in my yard have been covered in little buds for a few weeks now, and I’ve been impatiently waiting for them to bloom. Last weekend we got some long overdue rain and I guess that’s what they were waiting for. There are now gorgeous flowers all over the plants and the smell is heavenly. The gardenia flowers are quite attractive to pollinators, so I’m hoping to find some nice bees or butterflies out by the flowers, too. Every year I look forward to these pretty little white blossoms. My only regret is that they don’t last longer than they do.
