Happy Easter to One and All

It’s Easter Sunday, a day of celebration for most people of the Christian faith. For some people Easter means church services, usually something special. For others, it’s a day for gathering with friends and family. There is often a large, celebratory meal that’s involved and there is almost always candy in springtime decorated baskets. Another common tradition is to hide brightly colored hard boiled eggs for children to find. In the artwork above, a blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata) has discovered one of these colored eggs in the grass and is using it as a perch. It combines the color and joy of the season with my love of wildlife and art. It’s my way of celebrating the day and sharing some of myself with you on this special day. Have a Happy Easter, everybody!
