Carolina Chickadees Sing a Beautiful Song

Itās the time of the year when birdsong is in the air everywhere. Every time I walk outside, no matter where I am, I hear birds singing up in the trees and off in the distance. Itās lovely just to step outside and take a listen. Often you canāt see who is singing, but when the bird is just above you, itās usually pretty easy. Things have been very busy in my life lately, so itās been nearly a week since I could sit outside and watch the birds in my yard. Today, the star of the show was this handsome Carolina chickadee (Poecile carolinensis), who kept flying into the feeding station, grabbing a bite, and then heading up into one of the nearby live oaks. After he finished his treat each time he would spend some time singing his beautiful song. It was a perfect addition to a sunny spring weekend morning.
