Boldbrush, the company that hosts my artist’s website, has an art contest every month, so I almost always try to enter. Each month, I try to enter something that is somewhat different from what I entered the previous month. The contest is judged by a panel of other artists that run and work for this site. In June, I entered “In for the Night”, which is an image I took in 2022 at Payne’s Prairie State Park at Lake Wauberg at sundown. Earlier this week I was notified that my work was judged to be among the top 15%. I won this award once before, back in 2023 with my image “Black and White and Red Hibiscus”. It’s not quite the same as winning the contest overall, but when considering that there are hundreds to sometimes thousands of works entered each month, I’m still pretty pleased.
