The Gardenias are Beautiful in Full Bloom
Two years ago something happened that killed off about half of one of my gardenia bushes. I cut all the dead material back, but we still had a very poor bloom last year, so I was really pleased when I noticed hundred of little green buds forming about a month ago. Since then, I’ve been anticipating the blossoms, and I haven’t been disappointed. A few days ago, there were just a few, nearly perfect flowers, and now there are hundreds. The smell has been absolutely wonderful and the bush looks amazing. Unfortunately, gardenia flowers don’t last long, so many of the early flowers are turning brown and wilting, but there are also still plenty of unopened buds. The first day that I noticed flowers, I had to grab my camera and get some pictures. Since then, I’ve done a couple more short shoots. Gardenias are one of my favorite flowers since I love their color and nothing (except maybe roses) beats that scent.
