Fiery Colors Give New Life to a Group of Sedge Fruits
Globe sedge (Cyperus globulosus) fruits are one of my favorite things to photograph because of the depth and textures of both the grass blades themselves and the spiky fruits. Because of that, it was really just a matter of time before I used one of those images to do one of my color changing drawings. I never know how these will turn out and trust me, there are a number of them that nobody will ever see. As usual with the shareable ones, there are things about this one that I like and things that I dislike or at least am not fully satisfied with. Overall I’m happy with it, though, and I definitely had a good time creating it. One of my downfalls as an artist is that I frequently don’t know when to stop. Once I get going, I keep having new ideas that I want to try out. It’s great for my creative energy, but not so much for completing a project. Even once I stop, I often wonder what if I had… For that reason, this took me about a week to finish up. Please, let me know your thoughts on the creative process and tell me how you approach it. We’re all creative in our own ways, so think about you do to get creative.
