It’s the Season for Beautiful Powderpuffs to Bloom

Powderpuff plants are pretty cool. Not only do they produce beautiful, fluffy pink flowers, but they are also what’s known as a sensitive plant. That means that when touched, the plant leaves will fold up to protect themselves. After a few minutes, they open up again. There is a field that I pass going too and from work that is the first place I ever saw powderpuff flowers. Last year only a few of them flowered, and I have to say it was kind of disappointing. That’s why I was excited to notice the first ones blooming about two weeks ago. I waited to stop for some pictures until there were a bunch of them open so that I could not only get some shots of single flowers, but also one of the field. I hope you guys like these pretty, puffy little flowers as much as I do.
