Textures and colors are always fascinating in art. One of my personal favorite places to look for both is in wood or woody substances. That includes things like seeds and seed cones. When I found this pine cone down in my yard, I was very taken with both the colors and the textures of the branch and of the cone itself. I took quite a few photos at different angles and in different light. This one, from the top of the cone downward really emphasizes the difference in both texture and color between the branch and the cone itself.
