Here Are Two Renditions of an Amazing Afternoon Moon
As everyone knows, I enjoy playing with the colors in some of my photos. Tonight was one of those nights, so I took an old photo from 2020 and started doing several digital manipulations. I also added in some drawing in my Procreate app to help get exactly what I was wanting. I do a lot of my artwork in Procreate because it’s a pretty intuitive application with a lot of flexibility, and it offers a great users manual on iBooks, that is helpful in the parts that I don’t find to be intuitive. The manual is even free, so you really can’t beat that!
I also really like it when we have an afternoon moon visible. It doesn’t happen every day, so that alone makes it kind of special. Of course, you can only see it on relatively clear days, so it’s usually accompanied by clear blue skies. The white moon in the blue sky is a beautiful color combination that I have always liked. The problem with an afternoon moon is that it usually happens in clear skies (what?!?). The clear skies often don’t give you much else of interest to help the composition of the image, and I never seem to be lucky enough to have a plane or something go by when I’m shooting. So to make moon shots more interesting, I sometimes do strange things to them.
Tonight I actually created two different renditions of one original. Some of the steps I took are obviously the same, but definitely not all of them. I know which one I prefer, but I’d really like to hear your opinions, so let me know what you like and dislike. I’m always interested in what you guys have to say!
