The Old and the New: Both Beautiful in Their own Way
Two generations of a Carolina desert chicory flower both show beauty in their own way. The bud brings the promise of fresh, new life and brilliant color, while the seed head brings hope for the future. I took this photo in the middle of the fall and intended it to be of just the seed head. When I looked at it later to process it, I realized that the bud was in the image too. I kind of like the composition with the brighter bud outside the center and slightly in the background. Most times when I find something unexpected in one of my images, it’s something I don’t like, but every now and then we all get lucky!
