The Duskywing Who Became Incredibly Colorful
As many of you know by now, one of the things that I enjoy doing is playing with colors in some of my images. For this one I took one of my shots of a Horace’s duskywing, which is a rather plain little brown butterfly and added shades of purples, blues, and greens to make a much more colorful butterfly. There were two blackjack flowers in the background and I modified them to match the butterfly. Then I changed the rest of the background to black and white to make the colors really pop. Although one of the reasons that I like photography is because of the ability to realistically capture nature, I also enjoy color, and I don’t always want or need that to be realistic. Sometimes when you combine the two thought patterns you get some pretty interesting things as a result. I hope you all enjoy this attempt at combining them. Let me know what you think!
